I have never heard a true folk song played there, it's always fairly upbeat new age that gets the chicks having a good time, and I used to go several times a month.

I'm sorry you're that guy who sulks in the corner because no one will let his 10 minute Umphrey's deep cut make it to the top.

All of this.

They have Umphrey's on the jukebox? I didn't notice that last time

Sorry I don't want to listen to Pheonix, STRFKR, Capital Cities, Reptar, and all those other bands that sounds exactly the same.

It definitely has the best looking college women inside of it than any other bar in the area and hosts a lot of live music.

How can you still call it "genuinely terrible" after this qualifier?

The bar has the potential to be a great bar. They made good drinks and there are several bar games to be played while inside. However, unless you are the only group in there, some bearded poet is playing some shitty folk music on the jukebox and drinking all of the PBR. Also, the location is terrible. If this place didn't have such a terrible crowd (which affects the music) it would be a great bar.

frick you. Radio Bar is great and I've literally Never had that experience there. Most of the time I'm not even listening to the music and it's way better than the ear deafening you'll get at more contemporary spots.

So you only like one artist/band from every genre?

And I would much rather be around hipsters than the white sunglasses/Affliction T-shirt crowd.

Agreed. The Perkins overpass area is void of both.

You think every artist in a genre sounds the same?

Agreed. Minus Ivar's, that area is the best bar scene in BR

No. You didn't name every artist in whatever genre those bands are in either.

I just don't understand the hate for Ivars... Because you aren't a regular and don't get hooked up. It was the same way when I went to ZeeZee's, except ZeeZee's doesn't have drink specials.

Dude has a weird hangup with "hipsters". So he names a few musical acts that sound nothing a like but he thinks "hipsters" like, in order to make a point about why he doesn't like going to a bar that is pretty objectively awesome. Odd stuff.

What happened to Fred's? I remember when a couple named Rick and Medina owned it and was super fun.

Why the hell would I list all of the bands in that genre

You know exactly what genre I am talking about so my point has been made.
