considering Louisiana was loaded in 2014 and again in 2016, I'd be pretty pissed if we aren't in the playoffs at least twice over the next 5 years. Also winning one is mandatory and I don't care how stupid that sounds.

There's no SEC team that's going to make this playoff without winning the SEC title. If you think two SEC teams are going to make it in, you are deluding yourself.

This system will reward conference champions. I don't see a committee situation bending over backward to favor the SEC's #2 team over the PAC 12's, Big 10's, Big 12's, ACC's champion.

The committee will want ALL of America engaged in the playoff, not just the south. Watch.

Agreed. Cameron and Chavis give us a chance to be in the playoff any year in the next five. Just have to get in, then anything can happen, including winning it all.

I disagree. I am very confident that if Bama finishes with 1 loss, either in the SECCG or the the winner of the SECW, they make the playoff every time.

I do not think the same hlds true for other SEC teams.

I wish I could disagree with this.

Avg rank top 15.
A trip to the playoffs or 2 "would be BCS" bowls would be the lagniappe.

there would have been immediate outrage had Bama not made it in 2011 if there were a playoff. I don't think a committee would be stupid enough to deny two teams of that caliber from the same conference.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Hence earlier a guy said it was created to keep the SEC in check.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
How do u do keep all of America watching? Controversy and and a dog in the hunt.

Theyve done both rather shrewdly.

Ok here we go.

SEC has an undefeated champion #1 seed (play along here, Put whoever u want)
Fla St 1 loss QB hurt didnt play. #2 seed and vegas favorite.
Oklahoma 1 loss. Big XII Champ. #3 seed
Ohio State 1 loss Big 10 champ- who is behind all this to start with. #4 seed

One loss SEC and 1 loss Pac 12 Champion screaming what happened to strength of schedule?

Atleast 1 championship and 2 playoff appearances

Anything less is going to be disappointing

Then you should be disappointed with the last 6 years.

If the playoff system had been implemented in 2008, we would currently only have one appearance in the playoffs.

What's special about 2008? It's almost like you're... leaving something out...

Fine, let's go back to 2005.

If the playoff system had been implmented at that time, we would have just 2 playoff appearances and 1 national title in 9 years.

If that one loss was a head to head loss, then they shouldn't go.

I'll say 1 sec champ and 1 at large playoff birth for my answer of 2 playoff births.

There is no such thing as an "at large" birth. The committee will select the top 4 teams, and there is no designation between conference champs and non-conference champs. It isn't like the NFL.

I'm assuming that we're using the BCS top 4 for this. In that case, count 2006 as well, we finished #4. So 3 playoff appearances.
