If I walk out of a bar in New Orleans and there is a cab waiting I will jump in it. If not, I request an Uber which comes in 5 minutes. Cab drivers just know their archaic business model, shitty customer service, and gross vehicles are ripe for some competition to steal some business away.
You and all other pro-cab people are insecure and for good reason.

It's super easy to catch a cab. In fact I saw the OP do this a few nights ago leaving the bulldog. Before he could put his drinking down and unlock his phone his buddies had already hailed a cabbie and were in the back seat.
