"I wanna give you one point too about winning.
Winning is a thing, that is inherent with how you were raised. It's something you carry with you for a life time. And to pretend, that it's brought, or deposited at a place, and left.... It is not. It is always carried with the participants or the people that are there. Period. (Just) End discussion."
-Les Miles
I'm just saying, If Tim Tebow and Cam Newton can have monuments. We would be foolish as a University not to show Tribute to the best coach in the history of our own (percentage ise).
Les is Certainly in reach of McClendon, and with the talent we've stacked (both coaching and on-field talent), we are destined to add a few more trophies to the mantle.
You can't get more classic then this. Forget who he's talking to, and whatever crap McElroy talked before hand.
This is football gospel through and through (spoken by the mad hatter himself).
I'll say again...
CLM is a stone cold gangsta!
I wonder how long it will take for McElroy to find the rest of his soul. I'm more than sure I saw it explode on television.

Why didn't you put the whole thread title in caps?

So you want him to have a plaque because of something he said to a former Alabama QB on ESPN in the middle of July?

No. Not until he retires. We're too classy to put a statue of him now. He still has work to do and he knows it. He wouldn't want a statue at this time or the near future.

You're up early Les. How long before you showcase Mr. Harris and Mr. Fournette to the world of college football?
TIA

I'm not a fan of statues. Especially while he's still the head coach.

Pump the brakes a little, people. Maybe one day I could see it happening but we need a couple of more crystal balls first. We do that and I am on board 100%.

Maybe after he's done coaching, but to have a monument to a guy while he's still there is just..........weird.

A statue for a 2 loss NC? Lol no

Miles will get his statue, as he should, but not until his tenure is over, which I hope is a ways away. And he wouldn't have it any other way.
I do like the idea of that quote accompanying a statue though. It doesn't just apply to schooling some hack reporter on his comments.
It really could be a legacy for all future Tigers to take to heart long after Miles is gone and the next generation is tasked with continuing the success, as it is never guaranteed.
That, along with a banner running along the inside rim of the upper deck with the quote "This is Death Valley, truly a place where opponents' dreams come to die" would be excellent touches to Les Miles Field at Tiger Stadium
Damn these next few years are going to be fun

We need to build a statue of Saban first. Miles is just standing (barely I might add) on his shoulders.

I'd love to see a Les statue out front. Love what he's done for the program while here, think he deserves it with the success and how the players label him as a cool cat and fun to play for.
