I understand there are a ton of moving parts to this situation but god damn i really don't want to hear how we are going to be rebuilding for the next decade

The quote would seem to indicate the opposite of what you think he's saying.
quote:

“We’ll have to see how next year’s draft class develops. I think the slots are going up, so we’ll have the equivalent resources to spend in the draft, it’s just going to be next year instead of this year. I think it’s a one-year delay, and when you’re picking a young high school player, the chances of you getting someone next year that beats him to the big leagues is pretty good

Unless they pick another highschool kid. The stros are damn frustrating. I don't think they finish above .500 for the next 3 years.

Its year three into the rebuild, I like Lunhow but it doesn't have room for one year delays.

I’m not that concerned about it.

Perhaps I am reading this wrong and forgive me if I am, but nowhere do I see in this quote a reference to a one year delay in the rebuilding process. The only "one year delay" referenced is to when we get the draft pick. And, by his account, he wouldn't be surprised if that person happens to beat Aiken to the pros should we have signed Aiken. Its beyond my comprehension how people in this thread are spinning that into a one year delay in the rebuilding process.

edited to include the entire quote.
