Anyone else think this is just sarcasm since most people on LSU side of things hold him in such high esteem?

Running backs these days are lucky to go in the first round, much less in the top 5.

A HS running back would not go top 5. It isn't a position of value anymore

Tell Minnesota that about Peterson in 2012 when he won MVP and carried that team to the playoffs.

Think about the MLB draft and how the NBA draft used to be. HS players get/got drafted really early based on potential.

Adrian Peterson didnt even go Top 5...

The only reason Peterson didn't go top 5 is because he missed 7 games his final season at Oklahoma.

Not saying Fournette would have gone top 5 but he would have been drafted high.

It's obviously sarcasm, and it's mocking the LSU contingent that makes continual comparisons between Peterson and Fournette.

The fact that almost everyone in this thread took that tweet seriously is indicative of just how myopic the Fournette hype has made them.

Im sorry, but this is total BS. LF is awesome, and he may be a future superstar, but he would not have been drafted top 5 or anywhere close.

Yeah dont think he would have been top 5. However, an NFL scout did say if LF would have been able to go in the draft straight out of high school, he would have been a 2nd round pick. Thats still extremely impressive

With all the hype there is no way he lives up to most of it. I mean seriously some of our fans need to get a grip. If doesn't win a Heisman, and break Herchel's records he'll be a bust.

I'm pissed that the SID isn't running a Heisman campaign for him this year!

I don't think LF gets as good a Hill was. Hill was a flatout beast.

LF at this age is a much better and more complete player than Hill was at the same age FWIW.

I honestly can't wait to see what LF does on the field, however I really wish people would turn down the hype just a bit. People are putting so much on this young man that if he isn't a heisman contender by his sophomore season, they will be calling him a bust.

He has all the potential in the world and the tangibles to be great, and I believe he will be. I'll wait and let it play out before I start hyping it though.
