Sweet. The Rock is great.

Probably means they'll take it in a more light-hearted direction, which I would support.

So is Green Lantern out of the JL movie or will they reboot later or will RR play him?

it’s difficult to find the right character for him to play because of his personality and appearance

Seriously? Maybe because he's not Caucasian... But his personality and his appearance... he's the most superhero actor that Hollywood has.

I'd prefer if he was Black Adam (his turn as a bad guy in Doom was about the only interesting thing in that flick) but I at least think he will be somebody that will respect the material and take the role seriously.

Really the only reservation I have w/him being Captain Marvel is his age. I'd rather the Big Red Cheese be played by somebody in their early 30s rather than their early 40s.

im glad to see Shazam starting to get the respect the character deserves. DC's CCO and main writer, Geoff Johns, is co-writing the script so it should have a solid story behind it.

if he is playing Shazam, do they have Black Adam in the first movie or do they gamble and hope for a sequel? I could see them going with Sivana first, or him being the main focus and Adam coming later.

maybe he is Black Adam?

he was originally supposed to play him when Peter Segal was going to direct.

Why make a universally well liked actor into a villain? I was hoping for Green Lantern for him.

The Rock needs to do more comedies. That's where his talent really is.

The Rock must be a really smart guy, he somehow parlayed a hardcore wrestling persona into a childrens movie star, and now mainstream action star. Dude has some skills

Shazam has a director: David F. Sandberg. It's reported that The Rock will be in the film after all (and not just in a Black Adam film).

‘Black Adam’: Aldis Hodge Joining Dwayne Johnson DC Movie As Hawkman (Deadline)

quote:

Deadline has confirmed that Aldis Hodge is in talks to join New Line/DC’s Black Adam as Hawkman.

Hodge joins Dwayne Johnson who stars as the titular anti-hero in the latter’s first superhero role. Hodge will play Hawkman, aka Carter Hall, a member of the Justice Society. It was previously announced that Noah Centineo is playing Atom Smasher.

The movie is cleared to shoot in Georgia next year.

Hodge recently appeared in the pre-pandemic hit The Invisible Man and is starring in Regina King’s feature directorial debut One Night in Miami which recently premiered at Venice and played TIFF to rave reviews.
