I've been resisting starting to play for many reasons. But now I think I'm at a point where I have the time to play a good bit. Went play this week on vacation with my dad, brother & bil. This was only my 5th round ever & 1st in 2 years. Broke 100 & actually managed to par 17 & 18. Think that good finish hooked me.
Soooooo... What now? I wanna learn & improve. I'd like to take lessons/hire a pro. Any recommendations? Should I just go to the range & start wacking away? Videos? Help! &TIA!

And by "broke 100", I mean 98, lol. Had those 2 pars, a bogey, and a couple doubles. The rest were triple or more, lol. I did lay into a drive that went over 300.....to the right

I can't give much advice but success in golf is all about practice and doing drills

Which sucks for me cause I'm the type of guy that just wants to go out and play

ETA: helps a lot to grab a small bucket of balls and hit them at the range before a round

Get a preshot routine down and always use it

With tournaments, CC dues, green fees, clubs, balls, shoes, etc., I drop roughly 7-8K a year.

Getting into golf is like sleeping next to the hottest woman you can imagine every day....she never wears clothes but you never get to close the deal either.

It's not that bad. It's like having a mistress your wife knows about and lets you bang, provided you come home at a reasonable hour and not too drunk.

For most anyway. I think you were dropped as a child too many times though.
