It sounds like your wife tells you what you want to hear, if you have one.

That's why I don't get the show. I cannot imagine coming home every day to such a shrew of a wife. I would run away and never come back.

My wife will occasionally check out TD so, yes, you're damn right she's perfect.

That bitch on ELR, however, is so insufferable, I could never stand more than 5 minutes of the show.

Biggest sit-com bitch ever.

to this day, I can't stand Patricia Heaton because that character was such a miserable C**t

Oh, I see. You're setting this up for your wife. It was the #1 show on TV for quite a while. Not to mention the tons of Emmy's. A lot of people found them funny, and they were, but to each his own. Is there a sitcom you do like?

Anyone else find the show getting better with time?

Yes. As time goes on it's becoming clearer that the writing and characterization for the show was in a league of its own.

I'm not married.

I just watched one scene the other day, where she was all smiling in Ray's face, when it turns out she was just trying to make sure that he didn't know notice that she got her hair done.

I was just like was that even necessary? She's trying to create friction. Then she got her kids to lie and say they had their hair done to catch him up in a lie.

I guess a little funny because it wasn't real, but not something I'd be able to relate to. I wouldn't want to be with someone that was baiting me into messing up, then call me out on it.

If you're not married, you can not fully appreciate this show. And this show goes both ways. Ray is not the best husband. I've watched this show all the way through three times and I know there is give and take.

I'm not married, but it seems to be petty sqabbles that might happen when you spend all your time around a set of people all the time that have been exaggerated for comedic effect. Debra has never seemed that horrible to me.

I dunno about that. Ray never seemed to meet her halfway and doesn't realize he probably out kicked his coverage. Also, having the intrusive in-laws always up in your business earns Debra a pass with me.

this

living next to Ray's parents would be hell and its amazing the she stayed with him at all w/how often they meddle.

I also enjoyed it before I got married. I guess a better way to word it would be you can relate better with the show after you get married, at least with the wife and kids aspect.

Meh, she knew what she was getting into, or she should've known. That's why I have an issue with the show.

I can see the show being a big hit with married women. It seems to be centered on the wife's conflict with the mother-in-law and the husband's unwillingness/inability to stand up for her. It's the professional woman-turned-housewife who lives in fear that she'll never measure up to the true housewife that is the old-fashioned mother-in-law. I can see a lot of today's women that would find themselves in that very same paradigm.

Debra was such a cutie. Sadly, she seems to be maw-maw'ing herself out these days.
