Things the average American doesn't know about Louisiana quote: The real definition of Creole. Educate me, please. What is the difference between cajun and creole?

Creoles were originally French citizens who owned plantations in Hispaniola and the like who were white and ended up in NOLA, it evolved into meaning of mixed descent or race by some. Its style of cooking is more Continental French style with spice. Cajun is derived from Acadian region of Canada and is in reference to the people of Southwest Louisiana whose forebears were forced to leave ending up in Louisiana.

Junior High version...

A Creole was a European who was born in the new territory... it has nothing to do with race, which is the thought of many people.

Cajuns come from the French Canadians(Acadia) expelled by the British, who eventually found refuge in Louisiana.

Oh, and tomatoes.

Historically speaking, I think they're pretty close. LA might even have the lead.

I personally believe that this is because some US Americans don't have maps and like such as South Africa and the Iraq, they need better schools.

We purposely built the bridge over the Mississippi at Baton Rouge too low for ships to pass because we have a port and frick upstream ports.

Another one I always found cool is that we have 4 of the 15 longest bridges in the world.
