Legal code based on French law.

How good the food is.

No good beaches on the coast.

How hospitable most people are.

When Charlie Daniels went off to ride in a rodeo, he thought red beans and rice sure would be nice back where the Mississippi River flows. It was once a long way back to Vicksburg, Mississippi River & muddy wine. To the average eye it doesn't seem like much, he just wanted to see sweet Louisiana on the other side.

We had shoes before we went into the military, you guys would not believe the number of guys from up north I hooked on that line that my boots were my first shoes, they were easy to reel in

Cajuns are descendents of a group of French Colonists who migrated south from Canada in the 17th century.

Creoles are descendents of people who are of mixed African and French and/or Spanish descent.

The groups were in different parts of the state and are separate ethnic groups with very different cultures.
