For lunch grab a burger at Ray's Hellburger in Arlington. One of the best burgers I have ever had.

Fixed. Fun fact - when the President of Russia visited, Obama took him to lunch here. Clyde's isn't a bad burger but it ain't Ray's.

For lots and lots of dining options, google "Tyler Cowen's Ethnic Dining Guide". Written and maintained by a world-famous economist who apparently eats out just about every night.

I haven't been to Rays but I'm not going to argue, I'm sure it's awesome. I'm by no means an expert on DC, but when I am there Clyde's is always a must.

Best burger in DC is Shake Shack in DuPont. 18th and Connecticut. For dinner is go to jaleo or oyamel. They're both Jose andres restaurants. Small plates. Don't go to Georgetown cupcakes, the line is too long and the cupcakes are just ok. Sprinkles just down t he street on M is just as good.

I love the au poivre burgers at Ray's. I'm surprised this style hasn't caught on at more places.
