it was definitely unique, and ethan hawke was great. i think it got better and more interesting as the boy got older. i liked the movie, I'm just not sure how much i liked it. overall, i was a little let down due to expecting so much from a movie rated 99% on rotten tomato.
I'm curious to hear others opinions.

Haven't heard much about this, what's the premise?

I thought it was a good movie on its own, but the way it made me think about my own "boyhood" and all the first time experiences I'll never get to relive made me appreciate it a hell of a lot more. The movie didn't force a plot with deus ex machina. Linklater just let a nice little story unfold, and I think the humanity of it was beautiful. It was the movie tree of life should have been.

Is this a movie or a documentary?

Just watched it today. Thought it was spectacular. Clearly a coming of age story. Just really simple and enjoyable. There is nothing odd about it. A fantastic story about a boy who figures out how to live in the modern era. There are just so many issues the child faces that we as people have. Lots of questions that he contemplates as an adolescent.
ETA:For those that are guessing, watch this movie. It's truly enjoyable. The best experience would be to watch it alone.
