I consider myself a capitalist and I'm pro choice and support most social stands that would be considered "liberal". Being socially liberal doesn't make you a communist or socialist. I don't understand why so many people don't get that. Some of the most uneducated people I've met when it comes to allocation of resources and capital are dye in the wool conservatives. Always b^*ing about jobs leaving to China or anti immigration.

And I doubt that Jennings La. Is the hub of liberal or conservative thought.

Most American liberals are capitalists. Most of us draw the line on healthcare, the justice system, national security, and education. Not wanting someone to cut corners for the sake of the bottom line in these sectors is not unreasonable and certainly not communist.
