I wonder if IB was as critical of the previous governor. You know, the one who was faced with a crisis on national tv and basically fricked it up in every way possible and only escaped national shame because the democrats found something to blame on the president they didn't like?

If he wasn't then he was wrong. FWIW I like Jindal, and think he's been fantastic for LA.
My greater point is that I do wish more people would question politicians regardless of party affiliation.

Link?

ETA: Murphy Painter needed to go jail. Just because a slick lawyer was able to confuse a jury it doesn't mean he was innocent. He was guilty as sin.

Your daily diatribes against Jindal lose their effect. It's difficult to take your threads seriously just because of the number of threads you start about the same topics.

Isn't Murphy Painter the guy who was stalking one of his former subordinates to the point where she had to get a restraining order on him, used his computer and background check powers to spy on several women, including Mrs Jindal?

Yep, he's an innocent alright.

I have heard terrible things about Painter and his background check abuse. I have also heard about the restraining orders and the stalking.

These Jindal hate threads are getting a bit absurd. He doesn't want corrupt state officials fired. Wants the governor to implement an education system that a majority of educators are against, because a donor is pissed off.

IB, just point to the place on the doll that Jindal touched you and get it over with.

Says the know all Russian.

The guy regardless of what you think of him was in fact following the law when he denied the alcohol permit in question. Waguespack and Jindal demanded he issue it to their friends. Waguespack said he did not think it should be a problem. Painter ask Waguespack to issue a legal opinion saying it was ok to issue the permit. Then these allegations of too many background checks suddenly were made by the administration. He was fired. The permit was issued. He was charged and found not guilty. His innocence was so clear the state has now paid him $300,000.00.

Believe what you want Russian.

Now to stop Common Core since it is mandated by law Jindal put forth the Governor is using the same tactic against BESE and White claiming the procurement process for the test is illegal and corrupt. Of course he now says if he gets to pick the questions the process is ok.

Bobby Jindal will do ANYTHING to ANYBODY to get ahead politically on the national level. Too bad so many of you can't see it.

BTW How much has Barron & Budd made since Jindal signed them on? LINK

Jindal is such a pathetic loser. He put his political aspirations before his actual governing job and flamed out spectacularly at both.

You boys want to disparage Painter yet give Jindal a pass for firing him because he wouldn't break the law??

How does that logic work?

The state settled with the man to stop the ongoing lawsuit. What does that say? I suspect there were allegations in that lawsuit that if proven in court could have given rise to impeachment of Bobby Jindal. Certainly Waguespack and Jindal did not want to go under oath in a Painter's civil suit. (I assume this settles all outstanding lawsuits. I don't know.)

This is Huey Long stuff.

Is it on record that he was fired for not issuing the permit, or is that a guess from the anti-Jindal writer???

Because you are lazy and I don't feel like bringing you up on the current events that include Jindal's smearing of John White calling his actions corrupt and illegal.

It was Painter's contention. I would very much like to see the transcripts of the trial where he was exonerated by the jury. I would also love to see Waguespack and Jindal under oath in the civil lawsuit.

They obviously did not want that and had Louisiana taxpayers pay up to keep it from happening.

Painter was drunk with power and I REALLY hated him.

This isn't about getting rid of assholes in office. Painter is a pawn who simply didnt follow orders. There's plenty of speculation in that and debate as to whether or not he did the right thing in that case.

Anyway, the new guy (Troy Hebert) is a pretty terrible person. Hatchet man that makes all employees stand up say "good morning/afternoon, commissioner" when he enters a room. Troy Hebert is probably 5x worse than Painter except that Painter was more of a womanizer.

No. It was stated the day he refused to issue the alcohol permits to Benson that he was fired for inappropriate use of background checks and I am sure the administration put this out all over town. He was found not guilty of that. One article said no evidence was presented indicating he ever performed an official background check except in two instances when people ask him to before they applied for CC permits. Faircloth charged him with 29 counts and he was found innocent on all.
