Held on to quite a few till late May here in SETX. Usually start seeing some show up in late August but the biggest wad doesn't start showing up good till the first full moon in Sept or if lucky, a Polar Vortex.

We had a long cool winter here in SE LA. and it didn't get hot until mid-June.

They weren't squealers. They were small and had white on their head. Also, didn't quack like a duck, but definitely a duck.

Who knows?

Occam's Razor tells me they were woodies.

Also, I've noticed the last 3 years in the Slidell area, Canada Geese have hung around well into June.

Once again who, knows. I sure don't.

That DU Migration App has reports of Blue Wings in Mobile Bay, High Island, TX, Scottsboro, AL. Crazy stuff when you consider that you can't post stuff on the internet if its not true.

That's a lot of sightings. I doubt they were all mistaken.

I probably did see Blue Wings.

and MAYBE some black-bellied whistling ducks will start showing up soon.

They've been here for the last 3 months. They don't stay in Mexico very long. I've counted over a hundred in a football field sized pond in Slidell during the summer.

At the nursing home pond down the street from my house. Let me catch one of these mf with a band on and see if me and whiskey richard dont snap necks.

There are about 16 total that hang here.

I've had some good hunts at the Oaks. Decent cover along the ditch.
