This dude is a rivers replacement. Will play more than rivers, if rivers even makes it onto opening day roster.

Give me Jimmer on a vet minimum contract over Ben Gordon on that contract he got from the Magic.

Rivers is a better ball handler and a signficantly better defender.

They will play different roles entirely.

Jimmer is there to sit in a corner and hit a 3 for like 5 minutes a game.

Im fine with that, rivers is there to dribble with his right coast to coast and shoot free throw floaters.

Or there to play adequate to good backup defense and catch and shoot 3s at a high rate.

The blind hatred of Rivers is just insane.

In the final month of April last season (8 games total), Rivers stats:

30mpg, 40% fg, 60% 3p, 4.5 rebounds, 4.6 assists, 12 pts/game

Not really. I just think the amount of blind hatred he gets is absurd.

All over the internet he's the butt of jokes and hatred, and people don't bother to even look at how his game has improved.

Because he is a Pelican, hes ok in my book. He works hard, hustles and has shown improvement. He may have simply needed PT and confidence. But they all have to reprove themselves this nov.

But no matter what, the free throw floaters are funny and he makes half of them.

I don't see blind hatred of Rivers. He went from a historically bad rookie to a bad second year player. He has NBA talents but most skills are laughable. I hope he keeps improving.

anytime he got meaningful minutes he looked better and better. It was a joke Monty was playing Roberts over him at points last year. Rivers would be having a good game then it would be time to put Roberts in for no reason to lose the game.

I will pull for the Pels non stop but after 4 years I didn't renew because didn't trust Monty not to piss me off and me ride back to BR pissed so many times. I plan on being a much happier fan this year knowing I didn't flush money down the toilet and can pick and choose games to go to.

I'm not a Jimmer fanatic, but from looking at some clips with the Kings, he can do a little bit more than hit corner 3's. He's not fast but he's got some slick moves. He's a good signing. And he is a different player from Rivers (who I'm pulling for).

I agree that he got better but could he really get worse. I don't hold it against Monty for playing Roberts over Rivers. Rivers is better defensively but Roberts was a better scorer. I would have prefered Rivers but neither was a good option. I haven't soured on Monty the way you have. He hasn't outright impressed me but I'll wait for him to coach with a full deck before writing him off as incompetent.
