How many places from Barcelona, Marseilles/Cannes, Venice, Budapest, Vienna, Prague, Munich/Berlin would I legitimately be able to do in 14 days and still enjoy?
Order of preference? Any on others that should be on a list?

I would pick 6 and go with that, 5 if your travel days to and from Europe is included in that 14. I've never been to any of those except Venice and it's incredible, but you can see it in a day.

Either do a Mediterranean trip or a northern Europe trip. Don't try to do both.

If you plan too much you will get burnt out
You want time to relax, id say 4-6

Last year I flew to Prague and was there for 4 days, drove to Vienna and stayed there 2 days, then drove to Budapest and stayed there 3 days. 11 day trip altogether

They all suck IMO
Everything you need can be found here in the states, those cities are just inferior versions of US cities

I'd say 3 places would be comfortable, 4 places would be pushing it slightly but would still be doable if they are geographically close to each other.
Are you planning to travel via train or plane? That will play a big role in the decision process.

I went Amsterdam (3 days),Berlin(1), Prague(2), munich(2), interlaken(3), marseille(2), nice(2), and Barcelona (3) recently and I wouldn't have visited Europe any other way. I got to see pretty much everything and sure it was tireing but it was awesome and you can rest when you get home. Just get a eurail pass and do it that way. Id reccomend getting a first class pass as it's much more comfortable than second class and it's not much more expensive
ETA: to those people saying you can't experience any of the stuff in a few days at each city are wrong. If you don't waste time and appreciate and use your time wisely you can get a better experience than only going to a few cities. Hope I helped!

Whatever you do, avoid Malaysian airlines

I spent 3 days in Barcelona and didn't see everything I wanted to; although one day was spent at the beach

I am doing London, Amsterdam, Copenhagen, and Stockholm between Oct 10 - Oct 20. Around 3 days in each place. Should be nice.

I haven't been to most of those cities but this was my experience this past May...
We did London-Amsterdam-Munich-Zurich-Florence-Rome in that order in 14 days. 2-3 days at each stop. Is it a lot of travelling? Yes. Totally worth it though if you're trying to see everything you possibly can and you only have 2 weeks.
We saw everything we could during the day and went out past midnight pretty much every night. We sacrificed sleep and just powered through. Slept on trains when we could. It was the trip of a lifetime and I wouldn't change a thing about how we did it.

Book your flights and worry about the rest when you get there. That's what we did last year. Had a general plan, but didn't really stick to it. We pricelined it across Gertmany, Austria, and Italy.

14 days leaves comfortable room for about 4 places, 5 if you want to push it.
I'd say do Prague/Vienna/Budapest for 9 days and hop a RyanAir flight for Berlin or Munich then train it to the other place for your flight home. Check flights to see whether Berlin or Munich is cheaper to fly back from.
I'd save Venice for an all-Italy vacation, just from personal experience. If you rush it, you won't like it. Spain/France are just hard to get to if you're doing a lot of time eastern Europe.
Tough to prioritize the places I've been, but here's a shot:
Level 1
Munich
Vernazza (Cinque Terre/Italian Riviera)
Murren, Switzerland (south of Interlaken)
Hallstatt, Austria
Level 2
Bacharach, Germany (Rhine valley)
Rothenburg, Germany
Salzburg
Amsterdam
Paris
London
Level 3
Venice
Rome
(didn't spend enough time at either of these places, was rushed so just didn't enjoy it)

We did Paris for a few days, took a train to Dijon (stayed for a few days) then rented a car and drove south to Provence. Stayed there a few days then drove to the coast to hit up Cannes, Eze, and Monaco over a few days. Drove back to Dijon then took the train back to Paris for stays in two more areas, and celebrate our tenth anniversary. Pretty fricking epic. I didn't list the day trips we took to the little cities but those were the highlights for sure. Trains go to big cities, but you miss a ton staying on that route.

I did Swiss alps, Innsbruck, bavaria including Munich and Prague in 10 days and never felt rushed. You can easily add Venice/northern Italy for a 14 day trip.
You get country side, mountains and cities all in one shot.
