Steve Gleason's Block:

I was at my Grandmas house. There are five games I've watched there, and all of them are memorable (some good, some bad).

-MNF vs Giants - Joe Horn cell phone
-vs Jax - River City Relay to missed extra point
-Gleason Block - I'm pretty sure I yelled for 5 minutes straight
- 06 NFC Championship game
- 09 second game vs Falcons to go 13-0

Random story:
The 09 Season I watched nearly every game at a buddies house in his parents outdoor kitchen. That's when the Who Dat Corn was invented. My mom made a pork roast and rice and gravy, along with a certain type of cream corn. We beat the shite out of the Lions and I can be superstitious so I made my mom make the same exact thing the following weekend. That went on and on. The Miami game I called to make sure it was made, and it wasn't... we were losing bad, we all remember. She made it just before the end of the first half, and suddenly the Saints woke up. I started to believe. Another weird occurrence with it was during the Redskins game, one of the few games I watched at my moms house. Just before the Redskins were about to make the chip shot field goal to go up by 10 and seal it I noticed the corn didn't have jalapeños like usual. I had to grab some from my neighbors house and put them in, sure enough the guy misses and the Saints go on to win it. The Cowboys game the corn was made at a different location, we lost. Overall our record when my mom makes that is like 30-3 or something ridiculous like that.

NFC Championship Game:
My moms house in my bedroom. I watched the entire game by myself up until overtime due to nerves. Was such an emotional roller coaster, and easily the most stressful game I've ever watched (11 vs 49ers comes close, but ended with me binge drinking myself to sleep). After the kick went through I had tears in my eyes and popped a bottle of champagne. I then drove to Lafayette and had a blast.

quote:

Tracy Porter Pick 6:

Was at a Superbowl party at a friends house. I was drunk from drinking so much whiskey and my nerves being bad. After the interception I knew it was game. I ran outside down the street and tackled some other kid running with his friends. I cried like a bitch. I went downtown Lafyette after. It wasn't NOLA crazy, but it was wild. Cars were just stopped in the middle of the street honking the entire time. Everyone was dancing on top of cars. Closest thing to euphoria that I may ever experience.

I'm not sure if anything can ever top that 09 season. That was such an unbelievable ride. Here's to another memorable, Superbowl season.

Chemistry class. Everyone in my class got a text about signing Brees. And everyone just started talking about it at the same time, and the classroom was completely silent just seconds before. It was cool.

to be honest, I was still was coming down the emotional high from the previous year. I was bummed that we lost but that 06 season was that uplifting for me.

at my house alone. I was going to watch it with some friends but I was real nervous and didn't want to act like an a-hole to anyone so I stayed at home. I have to admit, I really wasn't totally confident we'd win that game and didn't want to spoil a good time for anyone else.

When Hartley made the kick, I ran outside and ran up and down the beach yelling like a psycho. I use to live right on the coast on Dauphin Island.

this time I went to a party and was with several friends. Unlike the NFC Championship game, I was really feeling good about this game.

when he picked it off everybody went crazy and drinks started flying on purpose or spilling accidently. I smelled like Crown for the rest of the night.

everybody kind of chipped in to help clean up later on

not sure. But I did get a chance to meet him not long after that. I went up and shook his hand at a bar in Mobile called Boo Radley's. He was in town to scout for the Senior Bowl. I have seen tons of NFL personnel come here over the years but never bothered to approach them.

not real sure why he was any different. I guess I was just really looking forward to that year after all of the things that happened the previous year.

plus I had been boozing.

Watched it by myself cause I was so nervous. Mom came in for the 4th Q and I remember pretty much hugging her as she had her eye closed during the wait for the kick. Hartley got a kick out of that story when I met him once.

Pick Six

Couldn't afford tickets despite it being an hour away, went down to my grandma's in Delray had this huge party. I remember during breaks just eating by myself in the kitchen pacing. Almost tore my leg up Gramatica style celebrating the pick.

Wanted to give a special S/O to that game down in Miami in '09 that I went to. I was so devastated at halftime, people telling me to go home, etc. Then that amazing 2nd half comeback where there were eventually only Saints fans left and we just chanted all the way out to the parking lot.

How many times did you have to tell him? I know he had to have missed a large portion of it.

When Brees signed I honestly just said well at least we're getting a guy who can be solid. I had no idea how much he would exceed my expectation.

NFC Championship Game

My brother's place.

It's awesome because somehow after being dominated and out gained all game long, we still somehow found a way to win.

That was a brutal, intense and emotionally draining game to watch. It's easily the most stressful game I've ever watched. The epic change of emotions on the last drive of regulation when the Vikings were driving and then to the porter pick was just unreal, I had to go outside to breathe for a couple minutes. As awesome as winning that game was, I don't think I want to expierence emotion like that ever again in sports. Let's leave it as a once in a lifetime thing.

My brother's place again. This was a much easier game to watch than NFC. I always felt like we were going to win this game and it was great to watch. I knew for sure it was a done deal with the onside kick. When the pick 6 happened, I was like yes, it's over. Then a few minutes later, it hit me, OMFG!!! We just won the motherfricking Super Bowl!!!

Drew Brees Signs: Was living in uptown NOLA and told my buddy a month before that we should sign him.

The Texans Pass on Reggie Bush: Couldn't get it on TV. Listening to the draft sitting in my truck with a friend getting ready to walk to the Talladegga race from our camper.

Steve Gleason's Block: Sitting in the Best Western hotel in Delhi, LA drunk as shite screaming my arse off by myself. The front desk called and asked me to quiet down.

The Indianapolis beatdown to start an 0-4 skid in 07 - At my brothers in Ft. Lauderdale.

NFC Championship Game: At my house. Screaming. Cried afterword.

Tracy Porter Pick 6: At my house with a ton of people over. I went to hug my buddy and he decided to jump and absolutely destroyed my chin with his shoulder causing my jaw to feel like it was broken for 2 days.

I had no idea who Sean Payton was.

Thought we should have signed Culpepper or drafted Vince Young.

I was in my car listening to the radio when I heard BLOOOCKED!!!

Almost busted my recliner jumping out of it when Porter picked off the pass.
