I rarely drink anything with ice. Only time really is when I forget to ask for no ice at a restaurant.

If you're getting drinks without ice, I strongly doubt that you can afford to eat at a restaurant. When you say "restaurant", I'm guessing you mean burger king or the soup kitchen.

Give me a break. What we all pay for ordering drinks at a fast food stop is the paper cost of the cup, lid and straw while the beverage itself isn't near as expensive.

Soft drink prices have become outrageous. I don't drink coffee, but I need my caffeine. I drink only Coke Zero. I don't like the idea of paying $2.19 for a cup of ice with 8 oz of soda in it.

By the way, referring to all soda as Coke is trashy I imagine.

So a drink with no ice in it costs less than one with it?

I had no idea. But maybe us poors don't understand things like this.

What a stupid fricking conclusion- most places do free refills anyway, not everyone likes their soda watered down.

I was just talking about home. We can't afford Burger King anymore. The wife spends all of our money on QVC.

Maybe they don't want anything from your nasty arse ice machine dissolving in their drink.

My coworker ordered drinks with no ice because she was always cold and the ice made her "colder."

Had a friend who ordered drinks with no ice so he could get more.

When I worked at Serrano's back in the day, people used to order a margarita on the rock and then say no ice. They did this thinking they would get a full glass of margarita. Bartender always filled the glass halfway. Man the customer was pissed all the time. Probably why Serrano's is no more.

Maybe they know that Norovirus grows in ice machines.

Ordered a Coke in England. It came with no ice. Asked for some, and they waiter begrudgingly used tongs to put a couple of small cubes in the glass. You could tell that he thought Americans who want ice in drinks are trashy.

At a pizza place in York (full of tourists from all over), I noticed that our American group was served ice in our drinks, but other tables were not, and we had not asked for it. The waiter said they know by your accent whether you prefer ice (are trashy).

It's not about the price of the drink, its what the action itself says about your character, or lack thereof. If you're drinking a soft drink without ice then I'm assuming you've never met your father, are barely literate and of course you are poor.

This. My understanding is that they believe drinking a cold drink with a hot meal causes gastro issues. Not sure but those MFs are stingy with ice.

And poo poo on my lemon wedge! Who started this trend? If I wanted lemon water I'd ask for it!

Oh, ice water condenses and water droplets severely penalize my silk attire. Do you know how many worms it takes to make a silk dickie?

I don't know about gastro issues, but I just do not enjoy drinking an "ice cold" drink with food. Much, much prefer it to be slightly chilled.

And then if I do drink something with ice, I'm going to need a straw because I hate it when the ice falls on your face when you are trying to get the liquid near the bottom.

Oh...and for all you fricks that eat ice. Yes, that is trashy. Especially if you are doing it at a restaurant.

Fightingtiger98:

You have been labeled "trashy" by the experts on this board who, for some reason, have a problem with someone who does not want ice in his non-alcoholic beverage. I'll tell my 80 year old mother, who prefers her order for "water without ice" that she must be "trashy", too.
