You do realize that although medical marijuana is legal in Illinois, there are no dispensaries, right? You can get a license, but there's no legal way for you to obtain the medicine.

They are opening at the start of the new year. In the meantime it's not "legal" but I can have someone drop it off at my place and I'm good. I want it for edibles to take before bed, figure it'll make it easier when they open up in January and everyone is rushing to get a card

They hope to have a system in place by Spring '15. Once the dispensaries open up you'll have much greater access to wax/oil/dabs that you will definitely be taking advantage of. Congrats on living in a state with some semblance of freedom.

They have the system in place, they are just working on the locations. Since they can't be near schools, day cares, or residential areas they are trying to figure out where to put them

Supposedly 13 are supposed to open in the city next year. I'm curious if it's legal to order it online

Great- we'll have slackers buying medical marijuana with their EBT cards.

Do you have any idea whatsoever what we're even talking about?

It's a card that allows you to buy medical marijuana, the government doesn't pay for anything, they collect tax revenues from it. The dispensaries don't exactly take insurance and Medicaid, they take cash.

well, if you work for my company, you will be fired if you test positive whether you have a medical card or not...so I haven't even considered the idea...

Legalize everything- just drug test for any public assistance of any kind.

Who thinks that food stamps won't eventually be valid for marijuana in some form?

And, one day I'm sure drug testing for employment will be outlawed.

Can you use food stamps at the pharmacy for insulin? No, so why would you be able to use them for weed?

You're just of the opinion that everyone who smokes weed is a piece of shite on welfare, so you come up with some bullshite argument so you can feel like you're better than them.

I agree, it would help the economy plenty and stop wasting time and money on petty marijuana misdemeanors.

Businesses still have the right. But as it becomes more prevalent companies will probably have to lax their views on it to keep their workforce. Obviously that's a long ways down the road but I can see where a bunch of companies will change policies. No time soon like I said

Nothing to do with my boss...testing is federally mandated in my field...

This. There are so many big time very successful people that I know that smoke a lot of weed. At first I was shocked by it but I started to realize how normal it really is

Hopefully that'll happen when the argument is no longer about medical, but recreational marijuana.
