God damn. Most of my casts are not full length casts, so I'm not going to get enough out of a reel like that to justify the price. I could see having one if you're trying to cover a large, open area but it's going to be mostly for tourney bass fishermen with that price tag, not your average weekend warrior. I don't know why someone would pay $429 for a baitcaster. I would imagine they'll sell enough of the "ballistic" ones to make it worth their while though. Not to me though, lol. Shimano and Abu make reels way more expensive than that. Go around any popular freshwater lake and al the bass fishermen just have to one up each other with the most expensive gear available.

I completely agree with you... Kinda like the average ice chest user buying a Yeti. Just because it can keep ice for 7 days.... I don't need it for an afternoon trip to the lake.
