Because the #2, #3, and the #9 ranked CBs in the country are so far behind the kid from Louisiana that chooses Alabama in terms of talent and there going to be such a wide gap between all of them, it warrants the constant whining by LSU fans when those kids choose to go OOS.

Show me one post about Thompson being better than Collins. You can't

Just one thread with many examples

Cameron Sims, Hootie Jones, Denzell Duvall, Tim Williams, Raheem Falkins..none of those have hurt LSU.

You wouldn't like to have Devall? It's way too early to make any conclusions on the others.

You're insinuating that they will hurt LSU. So you should probably heed your own advice

Again, you assume we will get all three. If we go 3/3 then it doesn't hurt, but considering the recent success by OOS schools here in Louisiana and the fact that Broussard is in Alabama, I don't see how that is a safe assumption.

Where one person said he "may" end up being better than Collins? Really? That's your example? Get a clue

Devall is a defensive end for our defense. He would have played behind:

1. Sam Montgomery and Mingo
2. Danielle Hunter and Rasco

Losing Devall did nothing bad for LSU

All I'm saying is maybe we should let freshmen actually touch the field before saying they'll never do anything that will make missing on them sting.

There were at least 3 examples in that thread. Another thread for you to peruse
I'm on my phone so I'm not going through and copying and pasting.

If Welter can play MLB, then so can Devall. If he was a DE then he would be providing nice depth at worst, but could easily be a starter. Our DE's were average at best last year.

So is he a 100% lock? Remember, if you say no that means you have a "negative attitude".

If LSU recruiting is so terrible and Bama's is so great, why not just go over the the SECrb and congratulate the Bama fans rather than argue with the LSU fans over here and shite all over this board with your negativity?

Where did I say any of this? I'm just being realistic and not acting like every recruit is a lock and many are jumping all over me for it.
ETA: It seems many here are making the leap that since I am not a hardcore sunshine pumper that I must then be an extremely negative, self-loathing LSU fan. There is a middle ground between those two extremes and if you actually read my posts and don't put words in my mouth maybe y'all could see that.

No kid is a lock. But there is plenty of chatter and broussard playing with Louisiana kids to think that he's an LSU lean

In the end, LSU will be fine.

Your posts sure come off as if losing this kid is just going to be disastrous and LSU just can't keep up.

Doesn't this kid just play offense in high school?

As I've stated numerous times, this isn't disastrous by itself. However, if we lose any more of these corners that are considered locks then it will be a major blow.
Also, discounting a kid because he plays offense is so incredibly stupid. There have been tons of great defensive players at LSU that played on the other side of the ball in HS.

Lots of "if's" in there. How's that for just being "realistic?"

No. Sincerely.

The topic is one of the most exotic ideas we have seen on the rant!

Your timing and placement of losing a recruit to a school for which this board is obsessed with, leaves me wanting more!

Only guys like you, that police this board have the kind of wit and unparalleled intelligence to start a new thread about a lost commit to bama instead of simply putting it in the thread about the recruit.

I mean c'mon, who could come up with better subject matter than "DIAF BAMA" and something about "dick soup". We've never seen this before but beckon you for more, please.

I say again........we'll done.......we'll done!

So since I had a few minutes this morning, I "perused" through the two threads you linked about Thompson/Collins. I counted about 5 posts, in 12 pages within the two threads, where someone said something regarding Thompson being better than Collins. Two of the posts say maybe, and another is HOPING that so he has put it back in Bama's face.

quote:

I for one am hoping this kid turns out to be better than LC just so we can rub it in the gumps' faces.

quote:

Wow!!!! Was he a 5* or high 4*? Maybe Collins committing elsewhere turns out to be a blessing in disguise.

So three guys, in 12 pages, go full retard and that makes it a consensus agreement that Thompson is better?
quote:

he will wear #7 next thats for sure also maybe become better player than Collins

quote:

I think this

quote:

This is the one I wanted most!! Would much rather have his commit over the other safety we were going after. He just seems like a much better kid with some character for a change.

That a prime example of people over reacting, in the moment, after being severely burned by a hometown kid. It by no means represents the overall attitude of the board. Stop being so negative or change your favorite team.

And as for Devall, he did not want to be a DE coming out of high school. He was in love with Saban's 3-4 OLB spot from the start.
