Amazing how they managed to not interview or discuss any of the comments that were made by the biggest opponent of the SG movement.

So if the St George people do nothing, everyone would be equally subjected to crappy schools, like they have been for many years.

I couldn't stomach it tonight so I DVR'd it. From yalls reactions it doesn't sound as race baited as i thought though. I'll give it a look tomorrow.

There are quite a few parents opposed to St. George whose children are going to magnet schools but who would lose that option if St. George comes into being. Many of these parents speak about how interested they are in “equality for all” and “One Baton Rouge,” but many of these same parents are benefiting from a system that permits them to send their children to the elite public schools in EBR Parish and avoid the problems of failing schools.
I don’t blame parents for trying to get their children into the best schools that they can. But the very parents who are taking advantage of the system and sending their children to Baton Rouge High and other elite public schools are questioning the motivation of St. George parents who are trying to find the best educational options for their own children and who are finding EBR Parish schools wanting. I would be much more sympathetic to those criticizing others for “segregating themselves from poor people” if they were sending their children to the poorest schools in EBR Parish and having their children go to school with children from the lowest income groups.
