Very solid platform and has been around a very long time. But it is a pump.

guess I didn't realize that was pump only. Duh

is there a bottom ejecting semi?

I may be looking for two separate guns.
a cheap reliable O/U 20 for the kids/wife
and a more expensive semi 20 for me to dove hunt with.

I just bought a Beretta Silver Pigeon. It's not what anyone would deem "cheap" but I absolutely love it. Even my daughter (who never wanted to shoot skeet) loves the gun so much she's start shooting clays more often than pistols.

Personally I'd switch those. O/U for you. And semi for the kids/wife. When dove hunting I've always shite much better with the O/U than with a semi. Very rare that you need that extra shell. If planning on hunting south/Central American though throw that sentiment out. You don't want an O/U down there. You will be badly bruised.

ETA: I can't think of a semi that has a bottom eject but that doesn't mean that their isn't one.

And I think BPS is short for Browning Pump Shotgun.
