Don't they have a series where the children of the Avengers have a run?

Doesn't Thor have a daughter with Sif named Thorunn who wields Mjolnir?

Edit: yes they do. It's the same series where James Rogers (son of Captain America and Black Widow), Henry Pym (son of Ant-Man and Wasp), Francis Barton (son of Hawkeye and Mockingbird) and Azari (son of T'Challa and Storm) are the new Avengers.

Another development is that now Steve Rogers is an old man because he had the serum drained from him.

There's a new Captain America.

I thought she had a sword, not Mjolnir.

They better not go all Spider-man political commentary on us and make him a Mexican immigrant or something.

Thor is a mantle to be held, so no big deal. But I hope feminists realize this is a stunt. Movie Thor isn't going anywhere. Comic Thor will be back in under a year.

As other have said, Thor was a frog at one point so this is not really a stretch.

The horse-man was Beta Ray Bill. I don't think he was actually Thor but was supposedly even more noble and bad arse than Thor and had his powers and appearance.

So the punishment is for Thor to be a woman? Yeah, big day for feminists. The character has been knocked down a notch.

Well, yes and no. The guy who had the hammer before will no longer be Thor, but he will still be a guy.

The hammer finds this woman worthy and she becomes Thor.

I know nothing about the comics I just assumed that Thor was Thor and was a god/demigod that was powerful because of who he was, not because of his hammer

The hammer is where the power comes from. It chooses the person.

"Whosoever holds this hammer, if he be worthy, shall possess the power of Thor."

That is what is said on the side of the hammer.
