So you wouldn't allow your 11 year old to ride her bike around the corner unsupervised? Walk a couple blocks to school? Those activities are normal for an 11 year old and are part of increasing freedom and responsibility slowly to make them independent adults. Those activities are also much more likely to to expose a child to creeps than sitting in a locked car. If she was hot, she can go inside.

12 year olds are registered with the police department here as certified babysitters.
