Speak for yourself I actually watched the MLS game they had on last night. I also haven't watched any baseball and don't care about Lebron.

i actually really enjoyed ESPN's World Cup coverage...it was the biggest event in the world for 3 weeks, there can't be enough coverage, to be honest.

This is why you hate soccer. I'm finding a trend with the outspoken soccer haters.

but I do not understand how so many close minded people can hate something so trivial as a damn sport so much.

Ok man, serious question. Are you mentally unstable? I mean, you post some crazy stuff. And you start this thread after spending weeks posting on the SB when you were obviously watching the WC.

But I can think of 100 things I'd rather be doing at any given time than watching baseball.

Baseball is something that I can have on the radio in the background while doing other things.

Hit the Guide button on your remote control, scroll through your 500 channels and when you come to one you like hit "enter". There is this thing called the internet that can provide you with what would have been regular ESPN programming if not for the World Cup. Google "ESPN's NFL Insiders" and you will be able to access the most annoying fricking people you've ever seen or heard talk about breakout players and their dietary habits for 2014.

I thought the coverage was actually pretty appropriate given how important the game is to a large portion of the world and how little else there is going on in the sports world right now.

If anything the Lebron coverage has been overblown the last few days.

Don't watch ESPN. Simple. Don't know why more people don't do this instead of bitching. The station sucks aside from live sports.

I stopped watching ESPN about a year ago besides sports. It wasn't really on purpose, I got an apartment and didn't want to pay for cable so I can't watch it at home

I don't know what it is, but I feel better for it

I don't watch ESPN or listen to sports radio, I just read stuff online for the news I care about and read this board. I'd recommend everyone do the same

I find it hard to believe that a significant portion of America yesterday cared what happened in a soccer game between two far away countries located on other sides of the world than our own.

You'll be surprised when the ratings and viewership are released.

You've been posting on the soccer board throughout the World Cup.....are you just trying to hit your quota for shitty threads? You have almost 6k posts in one year, I've never seen anyone post so much and contribute so little

The ratings disagree.

But if you paid attention to ESPN you'd think that the entire nation was shut down in order to watch.
As opposed to what? WSOP and MLB day #97 coverage?

Doubtful. Ratings are probably similar to the Olympics.

The true test will be the U.S. ratings of Euro 2016.

Would you rather they spend time on Kpbe, Lance Armstrong and Tebow. How about round the clock Lebron?

26.5 million, that's pretty significant, no?
