I think we'd keep the MLE because we'd still be operating at just above the cap.
ETA: roughly 64m in salaries before including Russ and two cap holds

I don't think that's possible. You can't use exceptions at all if you're using cap space to sign players, so we should have access to both since we would no longer be taking Asik on with space, but via trade.

If we get Hopson from Cavs, we don't even have to include Babbitt in the deal. Ely+Hopson+Gee for Asik works.
