A terrible defense. Bought a striker instead of a defender like we should have.

I might be in the minority here, but I don't blame Blackett for the result. He's just a young CB that's thrown into a back line with Evans as our veteran.
I do have problems with RVP. Thought he had a crap game.
The official ruined the game also, and a draw would have been a fair result.

ETA: Any other official besides Clattenburg, and Utd win the game.

Falcao is a world-class player, but he wasn't at a position of need. United could've bought Di Maria and a great CB near deadline day while keeping Welbeck (that one is going to hurt United in the future).

Now United will probably have to buy a CB in the January window while selling a few pieces of dead weight. Hopefully it'll be enough for a fight for UCL qualification. You can't afford dropping all these points because it could put you in a hole you can't escape.

I'm very glad Arsenal was able to buy Welbeck. His work rate, pace and passing have been very good. Hopefully with more reps and chances his finishing will improve. I think that goal on Saturday will be huge for his confidence.

I've thought all along that we'll eventually get it right, but my fear is we'll have burned up too much ground on the front end to recover for a CL spot. Hope that's not the case. I'm of the belief we went after top CBs in the last window (Hummels,Benatia) but couldn't lure them our direction. We'll need some reenforcements in defense during winter break but hoping playing Shaw at LB and sliding Rojo to LCB (even though I think he's a more proper LB in build and style) will help.

Glass, I figured Danny would do well at Arsenal, and he's looked good even when he hasn't scored. Glad to see him get on the scoresheet for y'all today. Don't ever want to see him pull a Lampard and score against us though

At first I was a little dismayed by the signing from Arsenal's point of view. But, the more I thought about the more it made sense.

Let's just say we have differing opinions on that matter.

Gary Neville has accused his former club Manchester United of being 'soft-centred' and 'bullied' by Leicester City in their 5-3 capitulation.

quote:

Sky Sports pundit and former Red Devils defender Neville pointed the finger at the players on Super Sunday, branding them ‘not tough enough’.

"Going forward they're a lot better than they have been in the last 12-18 months and that's a positive," said Neville.

"But in the first half, every ball that got played forward from distance a Leicester player won it, whether it was the first ball or the second ball. In the second half, a decision goes against them but make no mistake about it they're soft-centred.

quote:

"You saw out there today [in the Manchester City versus Chelsea match] that every time a ball went up to Diego Costa he was getting battered by (Eliaquim) Mangala and it was the same at the other end with John Terry and Gary Cahill.

"I thought the midfield three for United and the back four got bullied.

I agree with Gary. I said in a post above that I thought we just got battered physically. Despite all our intricate play going forward, they just bullied us and that was the difference. Hopefully, the new players will adapt to the physicality of the league. They won't have to wait long to get another test - we play West Ham next

Hey guys,

Thanks for Welbeck. I wasn't really a fan of him when he played for y'all but he works his butt off and seems to have a good attitude. Plus his movement off the ball is great and he is an intelligent player. He's going to be massive for us this season, I'm pretty sure. He and Ozil are working on their chemistry and with Ozil being played behind him for the first time, man, did it look lethal.

But seriously, y'all need to do something about that defense. What's the plan for next game now that Blackett is suspended? Isn't Evans injured too? I just heard that but not sure if it's true.

Evans was subbed out of the Leicester game with a knock. He left on crutches and is getting scanned today.

I've always been impressed by Welbeck. Just because he isn't as good as Studge doesn't mean he's a bad player.

Also, I really have to laugh at y'all starting a guy at CB who has a 60 rating on FIFA in Blackett.

Hey, look, a great half-hour and then an ugly hour. Three points.

Rooney can be such an idiot.
