HIGHLIGHTS:

Seven goals on 12 shots on target.

3-5-2 looks great, will get better once Valencia or whoever gets used to that RWB spot. A stiff counter out wide could still hurt us in a big way early on.

Reece James Rodriguez.

A Galaxy defender nutmegged himself to assist Rooney.

Team played with confidence and attacking intent from the opening whistle. Night and day from the end of the Moyes era.

Disappointed that your highlights didn't include Herrera

Looked like Reece James tried to swap shirts with Landon, Landon gave him his jersey, and told him to keep his to mark his brace. Either that, or Reece told Landon that he wanted Landon's jersey and his own

I had already mentioned him and his performance a couple times tonight in this thread, but, yes, Andy was definitely a highlight as well. That post was (mostly) for SCH's benefit.

I even saw the previous page during and after the game. Didn't put it together with the in-game thread well

I've recorded but haven't had the chance to watch yet. Can't wait to watch us go in dry on the Galaxy

Herrera was easily the most impressive for me. He won the ball back, he kept and recycled possession and he played the final ball in perfectly several times.

We have our own James now and yes I will pronounce it with an H.

I liked the confidence we played with but it's just the first game and it was against not even the first team LA Galaxy so I'm taking it for what it's worth.

Excited for Saturday

No doubt, Herrera was spectacular. The way he and Mata linked up in the first half was a sight to behold. He also played a handful of pin point long balls, doing an excellent job of quickly switching the point of attack.

I think there's reason to be cautiously optimistic about this side, even without the benefit of additional signings.

Reece James is not a name that I am familiar with. He's listed as a defender. Is that where he played last night?

He played as the left wingback in the 5-3-2/3-5-2

ok I was wondering about this. I have no clue about the LA Galaxy...I don't follow the MLS...I did watch highlights this morning...waiting to watch the entire match tonight.

This Herrera kid looked really good from what I saw...

Dammit, I meant to buy a shirt last night but got caught up doing some stuff and forgot. I went back this morning, and they had "fixed the glitch."
