if these are the teams he could "choose" from, i could see him wanting the colts out of those. He wants a stable QB with a chance to go to a SuperBowl. Andrew Luck gives him that.

maybe the eagles. but idk. also if the Eagles are really trying to build a great team now, why do they have so much cap space?

so maybe the dead money is what would transfer.

His new team would only be responsible for the base salary ($10m in 2014) each year as well as the roster bonuses ($1m). I think the Carolina article is missing that he has already forfeited his 2014 roster bonus by skipping workouts, so he would count $10m against the cap this season for any team that trades for him. The new team would also be able to cut him at any time with no dead money/cap acceleration.

I'd like to have him, but trading for him could very well cost you a guy like Jordan or Juneyah, so no way I make a deal.

Well they did save ~$7m cutting Jackson kind of late in the FA game. They may not have liked any of their FA options this year and simply prefer to carry cap space over into 2015. If they don't carry over the full amount, then yeah, that's pretty stupid to waste a talented team in a terrible division.

They have nothing at WR.

This should have been a "can we?" thread.

I suspect not.

Going from a 2-14 team to a 12-4 team wouldn't be the worst thing in the world.

It wouldn't even be fair having him on this team.

We should do it.

I read that he's being valued at a 2nd round draft pick. So we wouldn't lose a player, unless you mean next year trying to afford everyone (we'd have to afford everyone this year first).

No way on earth I'd give up a second round pick for a 33 year old WR

Well thats silly.

Especially to be such a general statement. Some are definitely worth it and more

This. Jordan is easily worth more than Johnson in terms of trade value (he makes about the same amount of money over the next two seasons as AJ makes this season). Hard for me to gauge Junior's value, but I'd prefer him over AJ as well.

I don't think it's a stretch at all to say that either one of them, especially Jordan, are more important to overall team success right now than AJ would be.

At the price of losing a Jordan or Gallette he is not worth it but if Loomis can pull a rabbit out of his hat by all means do it....

I have gotten to see him first hand the last 8 seasons since my job has a suite at Reliant or NRG stadium and I can tell you this guy here is a beast and clearly top 5 receiver still in the NFL

How about graham for AJ and their TE... Don't recall his name, Owens maybe? He's pretty damn good.
