Nothing better than having your sub come right in and give away possession.

I wonder if Southampton will still take him.

Only if we can force Kaboul on them as well.

Is the Chadli miss on the break in the first half the only legitimate shot we have had at goal?
Posted on 8/31/14 at 9:18 am to GeauxColonels
We need to be more Liverpool like and just grab the shite out of people any time a break starts.

Now screwed out of ending the scoring drought against Liverpool.

I'm pissed. We did not play poorly enough to lose 3-0.

Liverpool has such skill in the final third. We have a ways to go. I just wish we could be competitive against the big guys. They always best us worse than they beat the bottomfeeders.
But some of that is because we open it up, going for the win.

We're where Liverpool was 2 seasons ago. It will take time to get Poch's system in full gear. That being said, I still think we need to get a pacey striker or CAM. We had chances on the break today but we're just too damn slow to do anything with them.
Results-wise, I'm fine where we are. Looking at the schedule before the season I think 6 points off the first 3 matches is what I expected. Still a long season ahead. But if we're going to attack, players have to be on the attack all 90 minutes. Ade started to show signs of his lazy, DGAF mode toward the end. And when we did get crosses, no one was in the penalty area.

How long is Soldado out? You guys definitely lack bite in the final third...

Not sure, but even getting him back doesn't help much IMO. We need someone with pace to stretch the defense and that can convert some of these breakaway chances.

yeah, I don't disagree.. perhaps should have went for Remy, before CFC got him..

Maybe....I personally don't like aren't but he probably would have helped.

We were definitely outclassed in the speed department. Lamela looked frustrated not having a real outlet whenever he got some space up front.

He played and was about as effective as the rest of our attacking players. By which I mean not very. Subbed out for Townsend.

I'm a fan of our play so far. You can tell this is a much different team than last year. Poch seems to know what he is doing.
I love the high press style of play, some of our turnovers generated some great possession, but obviously the players still don't know what to do with the possession. Against stronger teams this has been our Achilles for the last two years. Hopefully Poch has an answer.
I love the signings so far, maybe we make a last minute statement signing tomorrow.
Overall, the future looks pretty bright to me despite the loss today.

Hopefully these aren't formatted horribly (too big)... doing this all through my phone.
The game was incredible and loved the atmosphere. Stadium was very nice and loved how intimate it felt. Spurs fans were great but once it was 3-0, the Liverpool supporters were dominating the chants. A few fans behind me were all over Kaboul for being "slow and useless", ouch. The speed of Liverpool definitely stood out to me. Good luck the rest of the season Spurs
