Dude was so underrated coming out of college because he was white. His combine numbers were absurd and people didn't seem to notice.

He was the 11th overall pick.

The same could be said by any professional in any field. It's called delayed gratification, and it's a fleeting thing in America today.

Why did somebody print out that snippet, pin it to a wall, and take a picture of it?

This just SCREAMS High School Football Summer locker room material to me.

I would probably put my life on it.

ETA: Probably D-III College since they mention beer

He didn't post this in the locker room.

This is from a college locker room I assure you.

Why are you anti-self confidence? People should be proud of their hard work and take pride in themselves. This country would be a lot better off if more did.

Behind two other D-lineman and I heard MANY analysts say the Texans were reaching. If there is a redraft of that year, Watt goes #1. Definition of underrated. And if you look at his combine numbers compared to the rest, it makes no sense that people took other D-lineman over him. It doesn't even make sense that people took other players over him.

Also why the hell are his teammates making fun of him? He is arguably the best DE in the league and his teammates are making fun of him?

Can't tell you why but I can tell you that is true. Went to high school with someone on the Texans and he said that exact thing....nobody hangs out with him cause he can't take it easy and relax

I wouldn't be surprised if Watt is annoying as shite. People who are obsessed with something are incredibly annoying to be around.

Hm that seems a little odd to me. I mean I know he is an intense guy and all but more people on the team should admire his work ethic, not make fun of it. I have seen that him and Cushing hang out and work out together quite a bit though, that's a pretty intense pair of people probably to be around. For that reason, I guess I see why he isn't super popular to hang out with.

The main reason he is the way he is though is because he had to work his arse off to get where he is now. Came out of high school as a 2 star tight end, walk on at Wisconsin, now one of the best athletes in the NFL. Clearly what he is doing is working for him.

Yeah he's an incredible talent, stays out of trouble, is HUGE into charity and visiting sick kids, and is proud of his hard work.

Way to put words in my mouth. I'm just providing explanation to why teammates make fun of him.

I love the guy.

You could say that about many guys in many different draft years. The fact that you're using the #11 pick and talking about how underrated he was is kind of odd. I could argue if there was a redraft of that year Richard Sherman goes #1. Instead he went #154 overall. I'd say that's the definition of underrated. Not a top half of the 1st round guy.

You seem to be placing inordinately high importance on combine performance. Plenty of dudes can crush the combine and not be great NFL players.

Yeah but high combine numbers, combined with college production and a high motor (which was all analysts wanted to talk about) is the perfect combination as we've seen.

There are guys that work hard as hell but know how to be a normal humans and be fun to be around(Brees, Manning). Then there are douches who work hard as shite and have to make sure people know they work hard by being an annoying arse(Jordan, maybe Watt it seems)

I'll be the first to admit I was disappointed with the pick because I really wanted the Texans to trade up for peterson. I saw a white dude from Wisconsin said classic boring texans pick..... I was really wrong

I talked to a guy a played football with in High school that played Tackle at TCU. He told me their offense's entire game plan was trying to stay away from Watt.

There's no way the players today should be able to sue for concussions anyway. Surely at this point they're assuming the risk. All the information is out there.
