Negotiation is not a two way street. I tried to negotiate with nick Saban to run the bama program like a college program and not like an nfl program. But nick keeps cutting college players just like the nfl cuts players. So nick Saban proves that there is no two way street

Did this 2 days ago. Took me 1.5 hours but that was mainly due to me holding conversations with them and not demanding stuff. I do this about every 5-6 months and always get good deals. Just have to be nice and ask.

This time the promotions dept didn't do great but when I asked about my contract length and how much the cancellation fee was I got to retentions and thats where it all happens.

My last offer of credits etc had run out so I called. Also wanted to use the SECN as a tool before any agreement is reached. Ended up with this:

$200 VISA gift card
Sunday ticket Max for $90 total
Showtime free for 4 months
$5 off HBO and Sports pack
MLB free for the rest of there year.
And an additional $5 of for 24 months.

I did have to agree to a another contract for a year (mine was up in October 2014). Now my contract is up in July 2015.

Wont leave because I have to have the ST living away from La. Hoping they come to an agreement for the SECN. If not I will watch online.

I think you're referring to mine which was two days ago.

I'm starting to wonder though when DirecTV picks up SEC Network, do I have any leverage to get it tacked onto my package without a price increase.

I was told last year by a Direct TV rep when I received perks for not canceling my service, which included free ST, that they will not give customers free ST for consecutive years.
Does anyone know if this is still true?

This slimy fricker

You: One of the big selling points for dish when I spoke to them earlier was the SEC Network
You: I was hoping to have that as well since I am a big SEC fan
James: SEC Network will be available with us in August of this year.
You: oh really? I had seen that there were still ongoing negotiations on that. Has it actually been solved now?
James: Yes, It will be available in August.
James: Based on the information you provided, I would recommend to select 1 Genie and 1 Genie Mini with XTRA Package and Sports pack.
You: do you have a link regarding directv carrying it?
You: I have just searched and haven't seen any type of release that directv an sec network have come to a deal
James: We strongly believe every SEC fan should have access to the SEC Network on DIRECTV and customers can rest assured that is our goal as we continue our discussions with the owners of the channel. Contract talks happen on a different timetable with each TV provider, so unlike our competitors, we have really just begun our discussions and hope to have an update on status as we move closer to the network’s launch in August.
You: Wow, that seems to be a lot different than what you just said confirming it would be available in August
You: I appreciate your time

not at all, we had to sign a 2 year contract
That's the snag. That NFL package will be twice the price next year so it will even out.

That's a pretty boring schedule. Only games I would care about watching are USCe-A&M(mostly because its the first game and on a Thursday) and maybe Akry-Auburn but I'll be at the Georgia game so i won't be watching anyway.

Same here django. Persistence is the key. I called last week and they didn't do shite. I will call again this week.

Last year it took a few times. It differs from each person you get. I don't get it.

I have paid either 0 or 49 for Sunday ticket 4 years in a row.

My Bill is now $35 a month
2 extra free hd boxes
sunday ticket free
espn gameplan free

only reason i called was to get sunday ticket and they offered the rest. Every year they accomodate.

I followed instructions on this thread and got to retention.

They gave me 1/2 off sports and Cinemax and a $25 retention credit.

No Sunday ticket. And I asked for it.

No man, call back. Just keep asking for more. When's your contract up?

My buddy just called and he's on contract and still got a monthly credit and half of Sunday ticket.

I'll call back tomorrow. It's exhausting to be on the phone that long.

I wouldn't settle for anything.

Just have to be nice, yet firm. If they don't meet what you want, hang up and call back and repeat until you get someone who will actually help you.

Eating $100 is nothing for DTV compared to them potentially losing $1,000-$,1500 a year from a customer
