I doubt it's even a top 20 job in the state. Very few head coaches at schools who value football have to teach or have any other responsibilities outside of focusing on football, have much more control and better facilities. I could be wrong but I'd think there are at least 20 schools that offer more. I can think of 10 within an hour of me some of which have a fraction of the Jesuit student population

Jesuit should name an interim coach for 2014 and then conduct a national search for 2015.

At this stage in the game, I don't see how there's any other option. Fall scrimmages are 7 weeks away.

Jesuit typically fields overachieving, under-talented teams with discipline oriented coaches. They'll be fine.

nah i think they're above shaw and st. aug... i don't think those two schools are swimming in it. holy cross also has a first year coach... can't imagine he's getting jay roth money. maybe if he wins eventually

do any of the catholic schools have head coaches that are also the AD?

Jesuit and my STM are one in the same in football. They never have the athletes to win it all usually but will win 90 percent of their games due to out coaching, fundamentals and discipline

How do you define "top jobs"?

Doubtful, when you can't compete at a constant top 10 level with more boys than most 5A schools have students and your coach has multiple nonfootball responsibilities, then you have a program issue. The focus isn't there. Could be a sleeping giant imo if they chose to make it happen

Aug hasn't won since '79
Shaw '87
BM- never
HC-'63

It's not like any of these Catholic League schools have done anything in the last 30 years besides Rummel. It's not just a Jesuit or a Jesuit coaching problem.

And Jay Roth seems to be able to manage "teaching" and coaching just fine
