Let respond like you for a second...

...so the hipster population determines whether a city is a great food city?

Quite the opposite. It's the microwave hot pocket soccer moms, and pretty much everyone who isn't a hipster. They know what's up.

Ok Mike

Tell me what restaurants you have been to in both cities...

...that is if you have even been to either city, which I'm kinda doubting judging by your posts.

Oh, just the typical hipster hang outs like food trucks, drinking my PBRs and dressing in my fancy pretentious duds. I don't know real food like the people in Houston do.

I'd like to know when and where the last time Mike has had the unfortunate pleasure of dining in Houston as well.

Houston and Austin both have some very good to great restaurants. What's wrong with you people?

It's been a few years. They don't like my kind.

Tell you what. Why don't you post a link to your regular restaurant's menu, that place you frequent most often in Houston, and let's have a look at it.

I have no idea....Mike is hell bent on proving a point that Austin is the only city in this state that is "driven by food".

That's obvious. You need to make it back, because things have changed a little.

Search my posts on this board...I usually only surface when people ask for suggestions on where to eat/drink in Houston.

They do, but it doesn't make them a food city. Houston has six million people. It's a no brainer it has good food to be found because of sheer population and wealth, but I still contend that it doesn't mean it's a food city.

Certainly more of a "food city" than Houston or Austin (and, like I said, both have good restaurants).

I would say New York and San Francisco are tops. N.O. and Chicago are up there, too.

Yeah, no.

I know you're like this huge respected food guy on here and loved by all and stuff, but that's just silly. The burbs has some damn good food.
