Ruston beat the snot out of everyone they played that year. That 1990 team is still considered one of the best with Rodney Young, Raymon Malcom and Brad Laird leading the way.

With split champions it's actually easier for Catholic to win it all now. They play Rummel at home this year so that will be a litmus test for where they are.

Yeah... but that 1990 Ruston team is 1 of the best, if the not the best, high school football team in the history of LA. That team was unreal.

And that 1990 Catholic team was great, but they aren't hands down the best. The 2006 Catholic team is right up there with that 1990 team.

With the current NFL trend for RB's, Guice,Moses, etc should focus on LB or safety.

Moses is a freak and will most likely become a LB(Just my opinion). But I could def see him playing RB too. Hes that great of an athlete. But Guice is a RB, and a damn good 1 at that. Hes a complete runner as well that can do it all. He has the power to run inside the tackles and be effective and the speed to get to the outside and be effective as well. He can take it to the house from anywhere and can be involved in the passing game.

And they have to make it to the NFL 1st. What happens if they switch positions and arent that good at it or arent as good at it as they are at RB? They wouldnt even make it to the NFL then. Why risk that? Guice is a pure RB. Moses is still really young right now so its harder to project where he will be at the next level. But that will become easier to do by the time he is a SR.

And yea I get that teams dont take the same approach for the RB spot that they used to. Everyone likes to talk about the RBBC approach in the NFL, yet majority of the teams still have 1 RB getting the lions share of the carries. If you are good enough at that level, you will be the guy and get the carries. The teams that use a RBBC dont have 1 RB that stands out above the rest.

If he keeps his head on straight, stays healthy, and wins a championship (or at least competes)I think he picks up that fifth star before NSD.

I can't wait to see him in the UA game. Some people skyrocketed in the rankings after that game like Myles Garrett, Travis Rudolph, Jeff Jones, and I think Sean White rose too.

The 2006 Catholic team

Is that the one who lost to Acadiana or West Monroe in the semi finals? If Acadiana, was at the game and one of the best i have ever attended. Wilford Journet

That was the Acadiana year. I was at that game and it was heartbreaking (CHS grad). The 2006 team was damn good. Julius, Patch, and Henry Minor in the backfield.

2 juniors on that team are still on NFL rosters.

Lack of a good kicking game didn't do CHS any favors that night.

Julius graduated with me in Spring 2006. Still, that 2006 CHS team was stacked and better than any team we had from 2002-2006 and they only lost like 2 regular season games during that stretch.

It's sad, but the best thing I read in that article was that Fertitta is implementing a new offense. I have been so tired of watching that stupid spin offense. It will never win championships and Im hoping moving away from that is a move in the right direction.

I remember watching CHS when I was a freshman back in 2003. I didn't know shite about football schematically but I knew that spin offense was the pits.

have you ever seen him play safety? No, well promise you would be singing a different tune if Wiener ever took a chance and lined him up at there.

I hated the spin. My freshman and sophomore year I had to learn it for the scout team the week we played them.

We had a couple "wtf" games that year. Woodlawn being Woodlawn and scoring in the fourth against our 2s, then recovering an onside kick, making it close. Against Broadmoor we only won like 28-6 and had 8 fumbles. Literally 8 fumbles.

But that Acadiana game, ..... :|

Sorry fellas, I was thinking the 07 season where it was 10-9. Hated Catholic more than any team I played but we could never beat them.

Too be honest, those teams don't even need to be mentioned in the same breath as that 1990 Ruston team. Maybe the 1998 WMHS team or one of the Evangel or Curtis teams, but that's all. Those teams all had over a dozen d1 guys and multiple NFL guys. Freak teams
