Oh my gosh! That's hard stuff. I do think that sometimes one spouse goes right after the other of a broken heart and loneliness. I think they would rather be with the one they love and I think they're perfectly happy on the other side. It's somewhat romantic.

A bad down side to living so long is the risk that a child can go before you, though that's a lifetime risk, as well. Sounds like you are very much at peace with the way things went and that's a gift, for sure.
