What if a white guy WERE offended by The ND Fighting Irish.

What if a white guy WERE offended by the NE Patriots? His family may have immigrated from England or Family of Tories.

What if a white atheist were offended by The New Orleans Saints.

And so on and so on. WHERE DOES IT STOP?

Or maybe all people just put their foot down on the PC BS and learn to laugh or realize that even innocent words can be used in a harmful way and words that appear harmful can be used in respect.

You are literally just grasping at air right now.

What is this?

Nobody has said anything should be changed. Nobody has expressed outrage at anything. The only thing a few posters have said is that you cannot tell others how to feel based on your thoughts and feelings.

I don't know what to say to you if you really don't get this.

But its ok to tell someone that the words that they are using are offensive when that person is obviously using it in a respectful way?

How is that any different?

Hypothetical percentages: If 80% of Asians see the "Chinese Bandits" as respectful and 20% see it as offensive.

Should white people be ashamed that it was done and embarrassed over it?

That's basically what is occurring. White people are ashamed of the Redskins terminology being used despite it not being done in a derogatory manner and large numbers of Indians finding it to be done respectfully. White people are finding the terminology Chinese Bandits to be offensive without knowing why it was done. So how is that not telling others how to feel? How are others not telling people what they should be offended by?
