"Redskin" was never a racial slur. It was always a term of endearment or pride in the Native American community. The team name came from Native Americans who played on the team!

They have done poll after poll of Native Americans and the vast majority are not offended in any of them. The only people offended by this are PC white people who are trying to be offended for other people.

I have constantly said that you cannot speak for everyone and their feelings.

The woman who initiated the latest dust storm around the name Redskins attended a high school on a reservation whose nickname was Redskins. The tribe refuses to change it.
