Read the previous thread about it.

It is extremely unfair to compare the two shows.

The Pacific is great on it's own but BoB makes it seem shitty because the source material (European front, following one outfit, the book it was based on) is plainly far superior. It's just not fair..so stop it.

Agree with the advice to watch the Pacific first, and Taxman's comments above are also spot on. The setting is something that made the Pacific less...well, romantic, for lack of a better word. Unlike the European theatre of operations, the Pacific theatre was just ugly. Those men fought and died under brutal conditions against a very different foe on little islands that most people had never heard of. The show does a good job of telling that story, but it is story that is tougher to watch.
