For the pro-T word types, exactly what is the progression?

Stink, stink, stink, accumulate high lotto picks until you find a franchise player....

Then BAM! Multiple championships? Exactly what comes in the middle? How do we get from point A to point B exactly? Do we just magically go from lotto team to the NBA finals without even a season or two where we fight to make the playoffs?

It's either grossly short-sighted or so long-term they can't see what's right in front of them.

Idk but we will be just like Portland was this year. Just being realistic. And for lsusportsman saying the OP is a fricking idiot and shite frick you man and jump off of a bridge. I si.ply stated my own opinion, it's a message board to discuss the Pelicans and that's what I'm doing. So eat a fat cock

Yea it was a bit over the top for something that deserves discussing. I know some people that don't post here that all have the same feeling about the Pelicans. They all think we could be a sinking ship, just sayin.

And honestly, is there that big of a difference between Portland and the Pelicans right now? I don't think so.

Only difference is that they have a legit SF, and better 3point shooting.

And we have a legit center and they don't. Ryno, Jrue can hit the three, Amo if we can bring him back. We're not a terrible 3pt shooting team.

I agree, that we shoot alright, but the Blazers have two guys shooting ~40% from 3 and another guy shooting 36%. They also take a ton more threes than the Pels.

ETA: very similar percentages for both teams but they shoot 10 more 3's per game

Yep, they play their top guys heavy minutes to cover up for that. They got lucky last year with no major injuries.

I agree, but they actually stayed healthy and played good ball together. I will be super pumped if we do the same, but I have to see it to believe it.

but you just said we will be like the trailblazers this year implying it was a very negative thing. followed up by saying we are a sinking ship. you need to get your story straight

Okay. After this coming season those same people will be posting their asses off and calling "shotgun" on the bandwagon.

What needs to be straight? All I meant is we will be like Portland as far as no bench depth. You implied that they played well with no depth and I told you I would be super pumped if we played as well as Portland did. That's it.

Nerlens Noel
Elfrid Payton
$4 Million in cap space
v.

Jrue Holiday

Really tough call but I will stick with Jrue.

It is much smarter and the % prove it to not completely tank when rebuilding. As a fan it is also a lot better.

Next year you get to pick one of two teams to go watch see play.
PG Jrue Holiday
PG/SG Austin Rivers
SG Eric Gordon
SG Tyreke Evans
PF Ryan Anderson
PF/C Anthony Davis
C Asik

or.
PG MCW
SG Jason Richardson
SG/SF James Anderson
SF Thaddeus Young
SF/PF KJ McDaniels
PF Jarvis Varnado
C Nerlens Noel
C Joel Embiid
(SF Dario Saric Two Years From Now)

Another really tough call. It is the people that keep drinking the Bill Simmons/Grantland Kool-Aid that would rather purposefully waste 3 years and lose on purpose, on the about 20% chance you might get a superstar out of it. Thanks but take the whining and bitching somewhere else, either watch the Pelicans and be a fan, or just go watch Noel and Embiid in suits as they watch James Anderson and Tony Wroten get blown out every night, all the while telling yourself its okay they have a plan, and a lot of cap space to attract a big name that will never show up.

Also I prefer people and teams that say I want to get better today. Not let's see how bad I can really be so that in 3 years I will be a little bit better.
