Oakland leads MLB in runs, ranks 12th in hits, 4th in home runs, 13th in average, 5th in OPS, 2nd in ERA, 5th in quality starts, and 1st in batting average against....

They also have the best record in MLB... Yet many casual (even hardcore MLB) fans can't name 6 players on the team....

Does this team win the west (5.5 game lead over Angels) and make it to WS?

You answered your own question

Just because casual people can't name a player doesn't mean they aren't legit

Would the MLB allow an A's - Brewers World Series?

They said somewhere on TV this weekend that the A's infield has the lowest BA in the majors.

Damn straight they are and they will add some before all is said and done. This team plays great baseball and they are a cohesive unit. hearing we might even bring Chubby Checker (B. Colon) back to shore up the starting lineup.
You heard it here first A's win WS this year. would love to beat the Giants to do it. it would go a long way towards shutting off some of the bandwagon that got so big with SF recent success.

i have a bet with a buddy that the Stros will win the series before the A's get another. So with that in mind, i hope not

Came close to betting A's under 88.5 wins in the spring, but luckily I was too cheap to pay the juice at -145 by the time I was looking at it. Of course, this was right when the AJ Griffin and Jarrod Parker injuries hit the pitching staff.

Who knew coming into the season that a staff counting on Scott Kazmir as their #2 starter could be this good?

I really want Billy Beane to get a World Series ring. The stars may be aligning for them this year.

They may actually win a playoff series this time.

They will absolutely win the division. They have a really good chance to get over the hump and make the World Series this year.

I don't care for baseball, but damn, Moneyball has me rooting for the A's each time I hear about them or see them on TV.

We've won the AL West the past 2 years and have the best record in baseball right now.

Of course we are legit. Do you even watch baseball?

I just have questions about the rotation depth going forward.

Chavez already has more IP than any other season in his career.
Gray's first full year.

Kazmir and Milone will be fine. Brad Mills has been OK since being acquired for $1 (serious), and Pomeranz will be back.

But they are an injury away from trouble. I suspect they'll be addressing this at the deadline.
