I'll admit I haven't followed Green outside of the usual highlight clips but what makes a 19 yr old like Raheem Sterling able to start for England and Green not contribute at all?

Is Sterling just further along or was England just struggling for depth?

Sterling is just further along in his development than Green.

Sterling also played day in and day out with a large club. Safe to say that at the moment Sterling is much better than Green.

Raheem Sterling starts for the team that finished second in the BPL. Sterling made his England debut 2 years ago.

Julian Green plays in the Bundesliga's 4th division and just made his USMNT debut a little under 3 months ago.
