I'm glad one of you brought up white vs others. It is in fact easier to keep the Europeans out of the US than immigrants from the southern border. They are all stopped at the airport and never officially enter the country, they just get stuck back on a plane and sent back to where they came from.
If you overstay your vacation visa at all you will always spend 12-24 hrs in interrogation and lockup at the airport. They will eventually release you, but they will still hold you for as long as they can even if you have a round trip ticket.
