Just got an iphone 5s. Before i have had 3Gs and 4s. In the 4 years i had those phones i never went over my 2GB data plan. I just got a 5s last week and use the same apps the same amount and i went over my 2GB's in a week. Does have LTE on drain the data that fast?

how??

the only data sucker out there is google music.

you do know how to go & see what used all your data for the last 30 days right?

nothing else remotely drains my data because i'm always on wifi if i'm watching videos but in the car i'm all music all the time.

c'mon tmobile! add google music to your 'data exemption' and we'll be square.

I think so.

When I'm out of the country and keep my phone on airplane mode using wifi ONLY, my smart phone lasts a good bit longer

If you play the same playlist of songs on a 3G phone and an LTE phone, they will use the same amount of data.

When you set up your new phone, how long was it between the time it got turned on and you connected to WIFI? My guess is that it had to download all of your old apps, maybe some data, etc, and that's what used up your data, not the normal usage that you are thinking about. If that's not what caused it, then there might be a data hog app running in the background that you didn't have on your old phone.

How fast you get data has no bearing on how much data is being used in and of itself.

Either you used it way more than normal or your provider is fricking you.

Yes it does. I had this problem on my wife's phone once she got the new Iphone. We never had problems until recently. Then all of a sudden she was using data like fricking crazy. It was absurd.

I also made sure certain apps wouldn't use data in the background along with turning LTE off and we're back to normal.
