well he is definitely over thinking it, but its not unusual to ask for more money and to come up with some reasons for this ask.
i would ask for an extra week but I would be surprised if they gave it to you.

Wtf? I get 4 weeks at like 10 years of time. I'm really happy getting 3 at 5 years recently.
Only having 2 weeks sucked especially when the wife got 3 to start.

He's getting $10,000 more a week at the new job but he thinks he's being robbed of vacation time and wants more money for that "lost vacation". I still find the whole thing fricking hilarious.
