I tie an improved clinch knot. Never had any problems with any other line. It's not a slip for sure. The line would come back frayed at the end.
Read some Amazon reviews and it seems that a few other people are having the same problem.

I use Penn Battle 2000 with Super Slick (30lb). I can only tie an improved clinch and have yet to lose a lure from the knot. For my improved clinches, I do two things, either leave a long tag end about 1/4" or burn the end into a ball. I find that most people cut the tag too close and it will slip until a certain point... if tag isnt long enough, the knot fails. Cheap braid scissors (one blade serrated) has no problem cutting it.

improved clinch knot
also amazon reviews are suspect at best. I understand some people dont like it, but i have never had the problems and i have been offshore fishing with it for a few years.
quote:i agree with this! my knotes were failing and this is what i came to the conclusion of. Once i started leaving more of a tag i never lost a knot.

Ordered the stradic. I burn through the cheap reels and it's frustrating when you have a fish hooked and something fails. My wife does have a cheap quantum that has outlasted cheap shimanos and other brands
