Jabari Parker, 6-8 forward, Duke. "He's ready to help you now. I think he has a chance to be really, really good. I have reservations about a true position. I don't think he can guard threes. He puts a lot of pressure on the defense because he's looking to score all the time. I don't believe he can turn around a franchise's fortunes. If that was the case, you should be able to beat Mercer by yourself. His weight is a question for sure. He's the kind of kid who can gain 10 pounds in a couple of days with his body and eating habits."

It's an odd feeling to see the inherent flaw in this logic, but still kind of agree with it.

I think Parker has a frick you mode mindset, but I think long NBA 3's and 4's may be able to stop him from getting there. He'll need to develop a Melo post game to counter the Batums of the world.

Coach K was having to take Jabari for defensive reasons against freaking Mercer.

That scares the heck out of me.

Wouldn't that apply to Payton and the Sun Belt conference?
I don't see how you can have a point guard that good and they had a good big man, and they were only good, not great, in their league, unless Marlin just doesn't adjust his scheme to his talent (like a lot of coaches).
